Country singer George Jones was released from a Nashville hospital Friday (March 19), 13 days after a near-fatal car accident, according to a spokesperson at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Meanwhile, a prosecutor reportedly is investigating whether the single-vehicle crash may have been alcohol-related, since an open bottle of vodka allegedly was found in the 67-year-old singer's vehicle. According to a Rueters report, Williamson County D.A. Ron Davis said two motorists phoned police before the crash to report that Jones was driving erratically. Davis reportedly is trying to identify the callers, so he will have legal grounds to demand the results of blood-alcohol tests performed after Jones reached the hospital.
