'Greaseman' Reportedly Fired For Hill Remark

A day after making an on-air racial slur about Lauryn Hill, shock-jock Doug "Greaseman" Tracht was fired Thursday by WARW-FM in Washington, D.C., according to the Washington Post. After playing an excerpt of a Hill song while talking about the Grammy Awards, Tracht reportedly said, "No wonder they drag them behind trucks" -- referring to the 1998 murder of James Byrd, a black man, in Jasper, Texas. A white supremacist was convicted Tuesday for his role in the murder. Tracht issued both written and taped apologies.
