Kim Deal Denies Breeder Break-Up Rumors
Kim Deal is still denying rumors that the Breeders have broken up, but
Elektra Records has her new band, Tammy and the Amps on their upcoming
release schedule for an October release, and doesn't have anything scheduled
from the Breeders for the rest of '95. Deal said she hasn't abandoned
recording the Breeders' third album, in favor of working on the Tammy and the
Amps album, which is tentatively titled Pacer. But when pushed she
admitted that the Breeders haven't recorded a note yet.
Tammy and The Amps is a rather informal affair featuring members of the
Dayton, Ohio band the Tasties. They went in the studio at Dreamland Studios
in Woodstock, New York, and knocked off nine songs. Titles include "Pacer,"
"An Alien," "Two Scratches," "Three Eternities," "Empty Glasses," "Breaking
The Split Screen Barrier," "Tipp City," and a Tasties' song called, "Just
Like A Briar Pipe." according to Deal, the project is rather low key, and low
budget. "I need to record a couple more songs," she said. "And I'd prefer to
finish the album in Dublin, just because I want to hang out there."
