Oasis Cancel Rest Of U. S. Tour
Oasis abruptly canceled the remaining five dates of their
U. S. tour yesterday including a show that was to have taken place last night
in Charlotte, North Carolina. In England, rumors are flying that the group is
breaking up. This was flatly denied by a publicist at Epic Records, the label
that Oasis record for in the U. S. We were told that Liam and Noel Gallagher
had a meeting yesterday, and that at least one of them flew back to England.
Their last live performance in the U. S. took place in Birstow, Virginia the
other night. The canceled shows: Charlotte, North Carolina on Sept. 11, Atlanta
on Sept. 13, West Palm Beach on Sept. 15, Orlando on Sept. 16 and Tampa on
Sept. 18. A press release issued today by Oasis' management reads: "Oasis have
hit internal differences on their 9th tour of the U. S. which has resulted in
the tour being pulled 2/3 of the way through. It is unlikely their immediate
touring commitment will be fulfilled.
