Days Of The New Cancel Tour

Grunge-pop act Days of the New have canceled the remaining 22 dates of
their tour supporting their self-titled debut LP because of problems with singer Travis
Meeks' vocal cords, according to Wendy Kayland, publicist at the band's Geffen
label. "Travis' voice gave out. He's done so much singing on the big pre-tour, the strain
of ... doing all the gigs blew out his vocal cords," Kayland said. The band canceled
Friday's show at the House of Blues in New Orleans and all dates through a Dec. 26 gig
in Memphis, Tenn. Kayland said she did not know how Meeks plans to treat his
damaged vocal cords, but the band is still expected to release its second album in the
spring.
