Setzer Sues Former Bandmate
Rockabilly-swing artist Brian Setzer has filed a federal suit against his
former bandmate in the pre-Stray Cats group the Bloodless
Pharaohs for copyright infringement and unauthorized trafficking in sound
recordings, according to Billboard. In the suit, filed Oct. 29 in U.S. District
Court in Los Angeles, Setzer alleges that former bandmate Ken
Kinnally, without Setzer's consent, licensed recordings made in 1978
and 1979 to Collectibles Records, which issued the recordings as the Brian
Setzer & the Bloodless Pharaohs LP. Setzer seeks an injunction barring
distribution of the album; the amount sought for damages will be announced in court.
