Cake Show Stopped by Fire

A Monday night New York City performance by trumpet-toting rockers Cake was interrupted for several hours by a fire in the adjoining building. Cake bassist Gabe Nelson was the first to spot the blaze, according to a Capricorn Records spokesperson. Bandmembers and fans huddled outside on Delancey Street as the firefighters extinguished the blaze. The show, at the Bowery Ballroom, resumed without incident.
