Linda McCartney Album Inspired By Fan

The posthumous, solo debut from Linda McCartney was inspired by a fan's

letter about McCartney's contribution to an award-winning, 1980 animated film,

according to her label, Capitol Records. The 16-track album, Wide Prairie (Oct.

27), was culled from 25 years' worth of recordings by the ex-Wings member,

covering a variety of styles, from the pop-reggae of "Seaside Woman" to the "punk spirit"

of "I Got Up" and "The Light Camera From Within." Produced by

husband/ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, the album also features the songs

"On Cow" and "White Coated Man," which tackle Linda's longtime fight for animal rights,

as well as "Mister Sandman," the title track, "New Orleans," "Oriental Nightfish," "Endless

Days," "Love's Full Glory" and "Appaloosa."
