DJ Spooky Disc To Feature High-Profile Guests
DJ Spooky, the leader of the abstract "illbient" New York DJ
scene, gets assists from a number of high-profile artists on his
upcoming, self-produced album, Riddim Warfare (Sept. 22).
Spooky
(a.k.a. Paul D. Miller) is joined by Sonic Youth guitarist
Thurston Moore on "Dialectical Transformation III (Soylent
Green)," rapper Killah Priest of the Wu-Tang Clan
("Degree
Zero"), scatological MC Kool Keith ("Seein' Objects" and "Riddim
Warfare") and Keith sidekick Sir Menelik ("Seein' Objects"
and
"Scientifik"). Also appearing on various tracks on the album are
members
of rap crew Organized Konfusion, horn player Ben Neill
and
experimental musician Arto Lindsay. The 21-track album,
written,
composed and performed by Spooky (who also played bass on all the
tracks), will feature the songs "Pandemonium," "Synchronic Disjecta,"
"It's Nice Not to Lose Your Mind," "Dialectical Transformation I (A
Parallax View)," "Post-Human Sophistry," "Quilombo Ex Optico" and
"Roman Planetaire."
