It's No Secret Samadhi Anymore; Live To Launch Major Tour
Furrowed-brow rockers Live will kick off a major 53-city North American tour in
their home state of Hershey, Pa. on July 25, following a series of smaller
theater dates earlier in the spring.
Joining them for this amphitheater trek will be those funked-up females Luscious
Jackson, as well as the Fun Lovin' Criminals.
The first leg of the creatively-named "Secret Samadhi Tour" (echoing the name of
the band's latest angst-o-thon album, Secret Samadhi) will keep the band on the
road through August, during which time fans will be able to keep in touch with Ed
(sorry, Edward Kowalczyk) and the boys on their web site (live.cerf.net).
The site will feature a tour diary, soundbites and live digital photos, as well
as contain lyric sheets, FAQ's (frequently asked questions) and personal
anecdotes from the band that might explain the inspiration behind lyrics such as
"Angel, don't you have some bagels in my oven?/Lady, don't you know a man when
you see one?/Crazy lady with the shiny shoes, whereare you?/Kick your feet and
calm the space that makes you hollow," from the Samadhi song "Insomnia and the
Hole in the Universe."
Tickets for 11 of the shows on the first leg of the tour (Boston, Holmdel,
Camden, Columbia, Detroit, Chicago) will carry a 25-cent surcharge, which will be
donated to AIDS service organizations in those cities via the music industry AIDS
charity LifeBeat. Dates have yet to be announced for the second leg of the
"Samadhi" tour.
