Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui Reportedly Arrested For Marijuana

She was busted at airport security

UPDATE (12/15/16, 12:01 p.m. ET): Lauren Jauregui has spoken out after missing Fifth Harmony's Wednesday night performance in Brazil. "My dear Brazilian Harmonizers, I'm sorry I can not see you all. I did not get on the plane on time and so I had to go to Atlanta. I promise that I will do everything possible for you because I love each of you with all my heart. I'm sorry. I love you," she wrote in Portuguese. This mean she'll be back in action for 5H's next show this Saturday in Atlanta!

UPDATE (12/14/16, 3:00 p.m. ET): A Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokeswoman confirmed to People that Jauregui was charged with possession of marijuana. Her lawyer, however, claims no arrest was made. "Lauren Jauregui was not arrested and detained as reported, but simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance,” attorney Dina LaPolt said in a statement. "She will address the matter appropriately through the legal system. This will not interfere with any future scheduled performances or activities."

Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui was reportedly arrested for marijuana possession Tuesday night (December 13), according to TMZ. The report says that security at Washington Dulles International Airport apparently called police after finding weed in her carry-on luggage. She was likely en route to Brazil with the rest of 5H, as they're supposed to headline Vevo Brasil's FunPopFun Festival Wednesday.

Fans — including JoJo! — have been tweeting #FreeLauren all morning, but it's unclear whether the show will go on as planned.

Meanwhile, Jauregui's been active on social media since her alleged arrest. Early Wednesday morning via Instagram, she posted resources to help the ongoing conflicts in Aleppo, Syria. Hours before her flight, she had been tweeting about supporting the civilians there.

Clearly, she won't allow a reported run-in with the law distract her from what's going on in the rest of the world.
