One Direction fans know Liam Payne as the “Daddy” of the group, and now he’s about to take that nickname literally.

People has confirmed that Payne and his girlfriend, former X Factor judge and Girls Aloud alum Cheryl, are expecting their first child together. The couple has yet to publicly announce the news, but pregnancy rumors have been swirling for weeks. The speculation was all but confirmed yesterday (November 29), when Cheryl stepped out in London with a visible baby bump.

This will be the first child for both Payne, 23, and Cheryl, 33, who began dating late last year. However, longtime 1D fans will probably remember that they first met on The X Factor way back in 2010, when then-16-year-old Payne auditioned for the show. Cheryl even told him at the time, “I like you, I think you're really cute. I think you've got charisma, you know, you gave us that cheeky wink.” Umm, foreshadowing much?! (Not to mention just a tiny bit creepy.)

Payne will be the second member of One Direction to become a dad, after Louis Tomlinson welcomed a baby boy, Freddie, with Brianna Jungwirth back in January.
