John Legend And Chance The Rapper Find A Funk Groove On ‘Penthouse Floor’

Just try to stay still listening through their new collaboration

John Legend is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming album, Darkness and Light, and his latest sneak preview features an impossible-to-forget groove and a new collaboration with Chance The Rapper.

Legend last appeared on the same stage as Chance at the Magnificent Coloring Day in Chicago back in September, and now their track, “Penthouse Floor,” is seeing the light of day a few weeks before the drop of Legend's full album thanks to Beats 1.

Like the empowering “Love Me Now” before it, we get “All Of Me”–level sincerity and a driving beat to boot for “Penthouse Floor.” Only Chance could take a knock-knock joke and turn it into a series of sexy bars, and Legend's wry, hoarse hustle definitely works here. If we were a pair of penthouse doors, we wouldn't want to face Legend and Chance by the end of this track, we'll say that.

Darkness and Light is out December 2, and not only features this track with Chance, but collaborations with Miguel and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes as well.
