Alessia Cara Still Can’t Believe She Made A Song With JoJo

Let their empowering new collab fire you up 🔥

The wait is finally over. After years of lawsuits and label limbo, JoJo has released Mad Love, her first album in a decade and her third overall.

The comeback queen’s new project covers a lot of ground — relationships, wannabes, and her father’s death, for instance. It also tacks on three guest features, two of which dropped prior to the album’s release: Wiz Khalifa on lead single “Fuck Apologies” and Remy Ma on the hater-blasting “FAB.” Now, with Mad Love finally unleashed into the world, fans can hear the third collab: the Alessia Cara–featuring “I Can Only.”

The defiant duet deals with the annoyances of being scrutinized, with both Alessia and JoJo singing, “I can only drink what I wanna drink / I can only say what I wanna say / I can only think what I wanna think / Don’t hate me, don't hate.” Alessia continues her streak of self-confidence with empowering lyrics like “All that you’re getting is all that you see / I’m cool with it” and “I’m invincible / Even if I fall, I fall on me.”

After Mad Love’s release, Alessia took to Twitter to share her pride in being part of the project. “If u told little me that I would one day be part of a @iamjojo album, I wouldn’t have believed u. proud fan & friend,” she tweeted, prompting JoJo to respond, “you are a real one. ❤️ you.”

Oh, yeah. This is a friendship we can definitely get behind.
