Joe Jonas got very real very quickly in a recent Reddit AMA, and we gotta hand it to the guy: Not everyone can admit that they were basically a human tornado in the moments before losing their virginity.

That’s apparently how ditching his V card went down for Joe, who dished that he ripped his roommate’s room apart to find condoms before hooking up with Twilight actress Ashley Greene.

“I didn’t have any condoms, so I went to our drummer, Jack’s room, who was my roommate at the time and I demolished his room looking for them,” he shared. “Found them underneath his underwear drawer. When he came home, he thought somebody broke into his room because his whole room was demolished because I was in dire need. Needed to happen then and now. Safety first, kids.”

There were plenty more face-palm-worthy revelations. For one, brother Nick Jonas doesn’t actually have giant nipples: “It did take multiple surgeries to get them down to a normal size. I think it was like 30-40 surgeries to just get them to a little quarter shape.” (Nick didn’t have nipple surgery. Dude was just joking. But yes, Nick’s nipples are apparently “not as big as they may appear.”)

Asked for his pick if he could go on a date with anyone, dead or alive, Joe singled out Bill Murray (“he would bartend...drunkenly bartend”) or Will Ferrell. He’s totally gotten a boner while filming certain music videos, namely “Body Moves,” his latest: “There was definitely some half chubbing going on during the video. I wouldn’t say a full-blown boner, but I would say a haflie.”

And Camp Rock? Yeah, that’s an exercise in embarrassment through and through: “My dance moves in Camp Rock were so terrible. I thought I was killing the game, too. Actually, Tyler, The Creator posted it one day and I was like, ‘Oh, cool! Tyler thinks my dance moves are sick!’ and I realized he was just totally calling me out for being a total dickhead and the way I danced, but respectfully. I think my flat iron hair and my squeaky voice are a little embarrassing.”

But his AMA wasn’t all jokes at his expense: The topic of the Jonas Brothers breakup came up, and Joe was straightforward and honest, even if it’s clearly painful to revisit.

“Nick brought it to the table that he wanted to focus on different things, like acting and doing music on his own,” he shared. “At first, it was really shocking to me because it was kind of all I had known was the Jonas Brothers, forever. So, I was pretty mad and confused because, I was like, I’ve been putting so much time and effort into this for so long and now I just have to stop and figure out what’s next. And maybe I was a little envious of Nick because I knew that he already had kind of a leg up and had plans to work on music already and he was creating and producing. So, I was probably mad at him, too. I remember kind of losing it a little bit and I didn’t speak to anybody.”

They’ve long since patched things up, and they’ve even got the matching tats to prove it (and a potential reunion to look forward to). Whether he’ll recover from oversharing is another thing, but props to Joe for being so open and honest with his fans.
