MØ has followed up her feature on Diplo’s “Cold Water” with a tropical new single of her own.

“Drum” was written by Charli XCX and produced by Bloodpop, who’s known for working on Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion.” The playful, honking synth sounds are pure Bloodpop, while the snappy beat and sing-shouted chorus absolutely bear Charli’s watermark.

It’s a perfect meeting of the pop minds, and MØ sets it all in motion with her perpetually energetic vocals. Sure, MØ sounds good next to Bieber, but she sounds even better when she’s out front on her own.
