Get Ready For Doom And Gloom — The First Trailer For 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events' Is Here

The Baudelaire orphans’ story is ‘so upsetting and so utterly unnerving’

Wake up and smell the Count Olaf, because Netflix just debuted its first teaser trailer for A Series of Unfortunate Events. Yes, that's still happening, and it looks dreadful — at least, that's what Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) wants you to believe.

First off, this show is already winning major points for casting Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove as the face of a beloved childhood book series. Second, Warburton is absolutely perfect as the narrator, because his deep voice and deadpan skills coincide with how Lemony Snicket comes across in the books.

We don't get to see any other characters — the three Baudelaire orphans are probably too busy running for their lives from Lachrymose leeches, awful guardians, and that 2004 Jim Carrey movie of which we will not speak — but we do hear Neil Patrick Harris as evil mastermind Count Olaf. The show will span eight episodes, and we cannot wait. Check out the teaser below.

A Series of Unfortunate Events premieres on Netflix January 13, 2017.
