13 Last-Minute Halloween Costume Ideas For 2016’s Biggest Songs

Halloween is coming. Are you prepared?

'Tis the season for poorly carved jack-o'-lanterns, all things pumpkin spice, and copious amounts of candy. Halloween is in the air, and now's the time to brainstorm the perfect costumes with your friends. So let the biggest artists of 2016 — Drake, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and more — help you.

Their show-stopping music videos make great last-minute costume inspiration for even the worst procrastinator. When you're short on time and can't bear to wear cat ears another year, here are some quick solutions.

Fifth Harmony, "Work From Home"

This is a great excuse to get one last spin out of your summer short-shorts before winter strikes. Grab four of your closest friends and raid your parents' toolbox (or head to Home Depot for a little shopping). You can buy a pack of 12 plastic construction hats for less than $8 on Amazon (and get it in two days for free! ...if you have Prime).

Ariana Grande ft. Nicki Minaj, "Side to Side"

Throw on your go-to workout gear and gather your hair into the biggest, bounciest ponytail possible. Carry around a pair of handlebars, too — or if you wanna go all-out and save the environment, bike everywhere for the day. Just make sure you know what Ariana and Nicki are really singing about.

The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey, "Closer"

Pile on the chain necklaces and carry a pack of cigarettes with you. Even if you don't smoke, bring a lighter because someone will inevitably ask to bum one off of you. Ask the DJ to play solely Blink-182 songs for the night.

Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna, "This Is What You Came For"

Cut out lightning bolt shapes from yellow construction paper. Wrap yourself in aluminum foil. Glue/tape/staple the lightning to the foil. (I warned you these costumes are absurdly simple, didn't I?)

Beyoncé, "Hold Up"

Long, flowy, golden dress. Baseball bat. Wild, untamable look of anger in your eyes. Done and done.

Desiigner, "Panda"

Dress up like a panda — black-and-white clothes, pounds of black eyeliner and eyeshadow — and anytime someone mentions the word panda, repeat: "Panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda."

Sia, "Cheap Thrills"

Buy a knockoff of Sia's signature wig and squeeze into a nude bodysuit. Practice making funny facial expressions in the mirror.

DNCE, "Cake By the Ocean"

Strap a guitar across your shoulder and carry around a piece of cake for snacking. Who needs Halloween candy when you have cake, right?

Rihanna ft. Drake, "Work"

This couples costume is easy. One person wears a glittery tank top, chokers, and a denim skirt; the other follows them around like a lost puppy dog. When you arrive at your destination for the night, replace all the lightbulbs with pink ones. Nobody will think this is weird.

Justin Timberlake, "Can't Stop the Feeling!"

Wear all red and dance like nobody's watching. That's the closest you'll get to those inflatable air dancers that are always outside car dealerships.

Kanye West, "Fade"

First and foremost, go to the gym and work up a sweat. Do not shower after, because you want to maintain that dewy glisten. Then watch Teyana Taylor's incredible dance on repeat and be prepared to re-create it should the DJ play "Fade."

To turn this into a couples costume, somehow convince your significant other to tape cotton balls all over their body. Ta-da! You're a sheep family now. (Man, this video's bizarre.)

Nick Jonas ft. Ty Dolla $ign, "Bacon"

Dress normally, but stuff your pockets with bacon to hand out to anyone you come in contact with. You'll be the hit of the party.

Zayn, "Pillowtalk"

Bring a pillow with you everywhere you go. When someone asks you what you are, confess that you gave up on finding a real costume, whip out your pillow, and settle down for a nice nap. Clearly, you're the true winner of All Hallows' Eve.
