A$AP Rocky Is ‘Lovesick’ On His Tropical New Track With Mura Masa

You've never heard Rocky sound this dance-friendly

A$AP Rocky has been quietly prepping his third album, the follow-up to last year’s At.Long.Last.A$AP. In the meantime, he’s hopped on a lighthearted remix of UK electronic producer Mura Masa’s “Lovesick Funk,” aptly titled “Love$ick.”

Rocky contributes a couple bouncy verses to the dance-friendly track, which boasts a Caribbean beat and a playful steel drum instrumental. Along with rapping about pesky paparazzi and jetting off to Italy, he also addresses a relationship he had with someone in the industry (Kendall Jenner perhaps?): “And now we industry lovers, they makin' enemies of us/ I mean sometimes when we in public, they drainin' the synergy from us.”

In a statement to Pitchfork, Mura Masa talked about the collab, saying, “The track originally was about sex and how I was feeling after a particularly empty encounter with a friend told through a kind of twisted-pop, calypso, hip hop dance track. Rocky kind of ran with that and took it to this lovelorn, exotic place. He totally injected his energy into it.”
