UPDATE (9/27/16, 6:04 p.m. ET): Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato revealed the entire thing was a prank. Not cool, guys.

Picture your ex. Now picture yourself trapped in an elevator for hours with that ex. Terrifying, right? Thankfully, former couple Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas are friendly exes, because that's exactly what happened to them yesterday (September 22). These poor unfortunate souls, along with Cole Whittle and JinJoo Lee from DNCE, were stuck in an elevator for four hours. FOUR. HOURS. That's the equivalent of watching Camp Rock two and a half times.

Jonas documented the musicians' struggle on Snapchat and the Twittersphere was gracious enough to capture the video for posterity. This vid will also entice you to start taking the stairs from now on, just saying.

The incident comes shortly after Kendall and Kylie Jenner got trapped in an elevator earlier this month and Snapchatted their distress. And who can forget that time Selena Gomez was stuck in an elevator in Paris? Thankfully, her ordeal definitely didn't last four hours.
