Who needs a killer selfie angle and the perfect caption when you've got screengrabs from your favorite movies at the ready?

Kanye West has just joined Instagram, and he's wasting no time bewildering his nearly 300,000 followers with his first post.

As Pitchfork notes, don't expect to see a lot of collaboration on West's Insta — even from Kim, who's one of the most-followed celebrities and avid users of the photo-sharing platform.

Kanye's been interested Instagram for a minute, albeit absent from it. Back in 2014, he offered to redesign the whole damn thing. Back in March, he tweeted that he was thinking about joining, and compared Twitter to an artistic medium, stressing that Instagram would be a place for him to share his "art" and that no one would be able to tell him what to post should he choose to sign up.

So, sorry, Kim: You may be the queen of selfies and an Instagram champ, but Ye's gonna figure this one out on his own. Or is he? Since he got rid of his phone, is his Instagram just gonna be a series of sneak peeks of upcoming videos and projects? That's definitely not a bad thing, so we'll keep our eyes peeled to his feed to see where he goes with this.
