From Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney to Bella Thorne and Gregg Sulkin, 2016's been a rough year for love. Taylor Swift knows this well. After splitting with longtime boyfriend Calvin Harris in June, she dated Tom Hiddleston for a hot sec before they called it quits this week. Oof.

In the October issue of British GQ, Harris recently opened up about the “aftermath” of Tayvin, saying that “all hell broke loose” after their tumultuous breakup.

“It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly,” he told the magazine. “The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I'm not good at being a celebrity.”

But there was a lot of ~drama~ in the Swiftie world this summer, from her beef with Kimye to the Hiddleswift conspiracy theories.

Harris joined the party mid-July, when Taylor's team said she secretly co-wrote “This Is What You Came For.” He was blindsided by this very public reveal, so he held nothing back in a series of now-deleted tweets. Only one remains:

Harris explained that the “pressure” led him to this reaction. “I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realise that none of that matters. I'm a positive guy.”

“For both of us it was the wrong situation,” he continued. “It clearly wasn't right, so it ended.” Rest in peace, Tayvin.
