The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards were packed with incredible performances, but that's not what the internet cares about right now. Drake, who was stuck in "traffic" and couldn't accept his Moonman for Best Hip Hop Video at the beginning of the show, eventually arrived to present Rihanna with the coveted Video Vanguard Award. His speech was peak Drake adorableness, and you're a cold-hearted heathen if you didn't aww at least once while watching.

However, right as Drake handed the award to Rihanna, he went in for a kiss on the mouth, but the "Diamonds" singer literally turned the other cheek and curved the smooch (not) seen 'round the world. Or, did she? Thanks to Twitter user @Wisdom_98, it looks like we were sadly mistaken.

But don't just take @Wisdom_98's video for it; Twitter user ‏@Un_Apologetic also got video proof.

While this new information is totally precious, it still doesn't negate the fact that everyone thought Drake was going to propose to RiRi. Seriously, this totally looks like a "just married" pic, except instead of carrying a bouquet, Rihanna's got a shiny golden Moonman.
