Big Time Rush Fans Demand A Comeback And They Demand It Now

One Direction, who?

Fans of One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer need to take a step back and remember who really "ruled the world" — at least, that's what fans of Big Time Rush are saying on Twitter. Formed in 2009 (a year before 1D and two years before 5SOS), BTR starred in their own Nickelodeon TV series while simultaneously cranking out classic hits "Windows Down," "24/Seven," and "Til I Forget About You."

Their TV show ended in 2013, and the four members (Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos PenaVega, and Logan Henderson) went on hiatus the following year. But on Tuesday (August 23), the hashtag #StanBigTimeRush started trending, and fans began reliving memories of their early crushes. Even Schmidt participated in the trend, fueling the fan fire.

The stans were also quick to point out how One Direction opened for Big Time Rush back during their Better With U tour in 2012, not the other way around. In fact, Schmidt even told Teen.com in 2014 that their record label, the same as One Direction's, was using Big Time Rush's fame to promote 1D in the U.S.

People started sharing music video clips of "the best breakup song ever" and an "iconic bop," as well as sobbing over that fateful episode where Schmidt sang "Worldwide" to his girlfriend Jo Taylor (Katelyn Tarver) at the airport.

Fans also shared classic Vines parodying BTR.

Because they will never, ever get old.

Fans also poked fun at the hilariously pointless sound effects on the show.

And noted how PenaVega is the only one who mentions Big Time Rush in his Twitter bio.

Fans want a reunion/comeback/something amazing — and they want it this instant.

Now seems like the perfect time, guys.
