As far as “breakout stars” go in hip-hop, Fetty Wap is one of the most recent artists to irrefutably earn the title. A lot’s changed for the 25-year-old since he dropped his massive debut album last year, and those changes are the driving force behind his latest single, “Different Now.”

Produced by heavy-hitters Vinylz and Frank Dukes, the track debuted Thursday night during a Facebook Live chat with Fetty and his fans. It’s a classic “rags to riches” narrative, propelled by a throbbing beat and Fetty’s singsong flow. ”Oh my god, it’s so different now, yeah / How they used to hate me now they love me now, yeah / I remember days of wearin’ hand-me-downs, yeah / Got it out the mud, they understand me now,” he raps, reminiscing on the days before fame, fortune, and “Trap Queen.”
