Bow Wow Is Retiring From Rap After More Than 15 Years

With one more album on the way before he does

Bow Wow has been stretching himself beyond rap for more than a decade, racking up movie appearances and stepping in front of the mic as a TV host on shows like 106 & Park and the Grammy preshow this year. Now that diverse résumé is going to come in handy.

Bow announced over the weekend that he'd be stepping away from rap after releasing his upcoming seventh solo album, Nylth. Time to retire at the elderly age of 29.

That album, he says, will be executive produced by Snoop Dogg — who was instrumental early in Bow's career, giving the rapper his name in the early 1990s and appearing on his debut album in 2000.

We watched (Lil) Bow Wow grow up on the mic, but alas, we won't be able to watch him grow old.

What could be next for Mr. Moss? More hosting? Acting? Moving behind-the-scenes to the business side of the music industry, as a label exec?

In the meantime, let's take a trip down memory lane.
