Instead, a mystery brunette plays Puth’s lost love, and the video creatively splits the screen to follow the couple in the aftermath of their breakup. Think of it like a “day in the life” narrative that captures all the stages of a split: wanting to text your ex back, reliving old memories with them, moving on with your life and finding someone new, but ultimately still wondering what might’ve been.

“We Don’t Talk Anymore” is the most recent single from Puth’s debut album, Nine Track Mind. Last month, he joined Gomez on her Revival tour for their debut live duet of the song, and then he performed it sans Selena at the Teen Choice Awards this past weekend.
