Joe Jonas Talking About Demi Lovato Will Give You 'Camp Rock' Feels

🎶 This is real, this is me 🎶

When Disney Channel premiered Camp Rock in 2008, the Jonas Brothers were still the JoBros and Demi Lovato was Mitchie Torres, a 16-year-old with killer vocals. So much has changed since then, but the friendship between Lovato and Nick hasn’t.

“It's tough to stay friends with people who are in the industry over this much time. But they are two of the closest,” DNCE’s Joe Jonas told Billboard. “You'd think they're siblings, sometimes more than Nick and I. They pick on each other, they play games ... Demi’s a great listener, and she keeps Nick smiling — she’ll always make a serious situation laughable. So, they’ve found great support with one another and they lean on each other creatively.”

The besties are currently performing on their Future Now tour, but this isn’t the first time they’ve worked together. Nick actually helped her write 2008’s “Gonna Get Caught” about her relationship with Joe. (They broke up in 2010.) How’s that for a little sibling rivalry?

“I was oblivious to that until I was asked to step out of a songwriting session or two, then it started to be a little clearer what this was about,” Joe said, adding that today she’s “like a sister” to both of them.

Mitchie

“She’s the best version of herself I’ve ever known,” he explained. “She’s amazing at speaking truth to what she believes. I wish I could have a bit more of that. Excuse my language, but she doesn’t give a fuck. She goes out there and says, ‘This is who I am.’"

Hmm, now where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, in Camp Rock, when Mitchie literally sings, “This is real, this is me.” If you need a reminder:

Looks like the light never stopped shining on Demi. ✨
