Jennifer Lopez And Lin-Manuel Miranda Turn ‘Love Make The World Go Round’ Into A Stirring Ballad

The pair stormed ‘The Tonight Show’ with their Orlando benefit single

Jennifer Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda brought their Orlando benefit single to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (July 12).

Decked out in what looks exactly like the inside of a cathedral, Lopez sang a stripped-down version of “Love Make the World Go Round” backed up by The Roots. Even though the studio version of the song is a bona fide dance track, it works just as well slowed down and set to piano.

Lin-Manuel Miranda also appeared to perform his rap verse live, though he apparently didn’t get the memo to dress up like a church.

That dance beat kicked in by the end of the song’s live rendition, because even when the news is full of tragedy, sometimes you’ve just got to dance it all out in order to heal.

Proceeds from the sale of “Love Make the World Go Round” benefit Somos Orlando, an organization providing bilingual mental health services to residents of Orlando in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting.
