Aside from the primary players, the Drake and Meek Mill feud which erupted last year involved a number of peripheral characters whose roles in the situation were ripe for speculation. Besides Quentin Miller, there was maybe no one more squarely in this category than DJ Drama.

Basically, there were whispers that Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late was supposed to be a mixtape helmed by Dram, and he leaked reference tracks for some of Aubrey's songs because he was upset that it didn't end up that way.

But now, for the first time, Drama is addressing his actual role in the whole saga. And though he's still adamant that he didn't give the references to Funkmaster Flex or Meek or anyone else, he did admit that he's the one that tipped Meek off that Drake didn't write his "R.I.C.O." verse, which snowballed into a Twitter callout, a few dis tracks, and plenty of subliminals.

But he did this, it sounds like, for a dignified and, in hindsight, ironic reason: To clarify that Drake wasn't taking shots at Meek, because he wasn't the one who wrote the verse in question.

"My man [Meek] thought he was getting dissed," Drama said on Hot 97, in a nod to Meek's initial interpretation of Drake's line, "The girl of your dreams, to me, is probably not a challenge."

"I said, ‘Bro, he's not dissing you. He's not dissing you. He's not dissing you.’"

That's because he was talking about someone else, host Peter Rosenberg chimed in. Except, not exactly.

"Well," Dram went on, "Those weren't technically his bars."

And the rest is — well, we know the rest.
