Shawn Mendes Is Taking A Page From Kanye West’s Playbook For His Next Album
Shawn Mendes just announced that his second album will be out this year, and he'll be previewing it in a very Kanye fashion.
Like Kanye West did with The Life of Pablo, Mendes will host an “album event” for his new record Illuminate at Madison Square Garden. He’ll also perform a headlining set at the event, which takes place on September 10.
As for his follow-up to Handwritten, Illuminate will hit shelves on September 23. It’ll include his recent single “Treat You Better,” as well as a new song called “Ruin” that we’ll get to hear this Friday.
“If somebody told me six months ago that I’d be playing Madison Square Garden, I would not believe them,” Mendes said in a teaser clip for the show. Good thing he’s still got two months to start believing.
