As if you needed yet another reason to get hype for Finding Dory this weekend, Disney and Pixar will premiere an adorable new animated short ahead of Dory and Marlin's second adventure. Before Piper makes a splash on the big screen, check out this small clip of the action:

Directed by Alan Barillaro, Piper tells the story of a little sandpiper who ventures out of the nest for the first time. Of course, digging for food isn't as easy as it looks, with the ocean waves crashing onto the shore every few seconds. It's tough out there for a tiny sandpiper.

"This is a story about conquering and overcoming your personal fears -- in this case, the water," Barillaro told USA Today. "This is a tale of how to grow up in a world that seems so large and intimidating with the courage to get past those fears."

In other words, prepare to fall in love with Piper. Having seen the lovable short, MTV News can confirm that this little sandpiper is one of Pixar's cutest characters yet. (Sorry, Nemo.)
