Donald Glover Is Bringing His Spider-Man Love To The Big Screen
Donald Glover has never been shy about his love for Spider-Man and his desire to play the superhero. Back on 2010's "Do Ya Like," for instance, he rapped, "Baby, I'm your hero, Donald for Spider-Man" — a reference to a #Donald4SpiderMan campaign that had recently taken shape on Twitter.
Now, he'll get the chance to be in a Spider-Man movie — though not playing the title character himself (that role will go to Tom Holland).
According to Deadline, Donald is joining the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming in a currently undisclosed role. This will add on to his Spider-Man resume, following up his work last year voicing Miles Morales in the TV cartoon Ultimate Spider-Man.
Glover's current focus, though, is Atlanta, the FX series he created and stars in, which is set to premiere in September. You can watch a teaser for it below.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is due out in the summer of 2017.
