Nick Jonas Has Some ‘Regret’ About Spending His Teen Years In The Jonas Brothers

The singer opened up in a Tidal documentary about the making of his new album

Nick Jonas’s new album Last Year Was Complicated drops in just nine days, and he’s begun the countdown with a new documentary series about the making of the record.

Jonas revealed the series’s first episode on Tidal today. It’s 12 minutes long, and most of those minutes are spent following the singer around as he bros out around Mammoth, California. Joined by his friend Jonathan Tucker, who’s also his Kingdom costar, Jonas snowboards, drinks beer, smokes weed, and pals around in a hot tub in the same cabin where he recorded LYWC.

He also touches on a few sensitive topics, like going to therapy after his breakup and the lingering feelings of regret he has for his time in the Jonas Brothers. "There were probably some family issues that needed to be sorted out,” he says of his former family band. "At some point I need to be able to look at it with a positive angle. It does suck that my 13- to 20-year-old years come with a lot of regret, almost, in a way."

Spending all of your teen years in a high profile trio probably does suck no matter what. Jonas teased that he’d get deeper into his feelings about the Jonas Brothers later in the series, so stay tuned.
