Chinx's Posthumous New Song Is A Reminder He Could've Been A Hitmaker

Released on the one-year anniversary of his death

On May 17, 2015, Chinx, born Lionel Pickens, was shot and killed in his native Queens, New York. It was a tragedy that took the life of a father, son, friend, and budding rap star too soon. A year later, the case is still unsolved -- while his musical legacy is still unfolding.

The latest chapter comes with "Like This," a new song released on the anniversary of his death, which features Chrisette Michele and Meet Sims. It put Chinx's special skills on display -- the same talents he showed on some of his biggest songs, like "Off the Rip" and "Feelings" -- mixing an ability to craft catchy hooks with slick verses.

The single is a warm-up for Chinx's upcoming second posthumous album, Legends Never Die, due out on July 8.
