Lady Gaga Closed Out The Met Gala With A Surprise Cover Of ‘Burning Down The House'

With Mark Ronson

After Lady Gaga walked the Met Gala red carpet, she complemented her rock and roll hair with an electric guitar and a Talking Heads cover.

Fans spotted Mother Monster taking on “Burning Down the House” with Mark Ronson at the Met Gala afterparty. She’d changed from her laser-cut Versace getup into a more ergonomic black-and-white outfit for the show and played a guitar that (naturally) matched.

The new wave single was originally released in 1983. Throughout the '80s, Talking Heads used extra creative stage props, audio technology, and videos to augment their music, most notably in the 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense. That makes them kind of the perfect band to cover at the end of a technology-themed gala.
