Bad news, Fuller House faithfuls who believe Steve Hale is DJ Tanner’s OTP: That new guy Matt isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

According to Variety, John Brotherton, the actor who played hunky veterinarian Matt Harmon in Season 1 of the Netflix revival, has been promoted to a series regular for Season 2. That means the DJ-Steve-Matt love triangle is probably still in full swing, despite DJ’s bold decision during the Season 1 finale to remain single and focus on her family. (Let’s be real -- does anyone expect that to last throughout the whole second season? As Michelle Tanner would say, “No way, Jose.”)

As you may recall, Matt and DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) decided at the end of Season 1 to run Harmon-Fuller Pet Care together as partners, meaning he’ll still very much be in her life. But with DJ’s high school sweetheart Steve (Scott Weigner) also in the loop, her love life is basically still the mess it was when we left saw her. But, hey, at least she has two amazing options.
