If you've listened to Ty Dolla $ign's music, you're familiar with his brother, TC. With a similarly divine singing ability as his star brother, TC's made song-stealing appearances on tracks like "Miracle," "In Too Deep" and YG's "Thank God (Interlude)."
His vocals, though, are always just a little bit less clean than whoever he's sharing the track with -- because they've been recorded over the phone, while TC, born Gabriel Griffin, sits in jail following a first degree murder conviction for a 2004 incident.
But TC, Ty, and the rest of the family maintain his innocence, and are working to get him back home. That's where the name of Ty's debut album, last November's Free TC, comes from. And it's where his new mini-doc of the same name gets its inspiration.
With interviews with family members and TC himself, the doc tells the story of the brothers' upbringing, bond, musical relationship, and why they feel TC was wrongly convicted and are still holding out hope he'll soon be free.
