Bruce Willis Wanted a LOT of Cash for 'Expendables 3'

Bruce Willis thinks a whole lot of himself, ya'll. Like...a mill-plus per day a lot.

Not only did he positively humiliate that poor U.K. interviewer during "Red 2" promos just for meanie sport, but now even more gory details regarding his sudden replacement for "The Expendables 3" by Harrison Ford (not to mention those way harsh public comments from Sylvester Stallone) have come to light.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Willis was offered $3 million to appear in the third "Expendables" installment, after starring in the manly franchise's first and second chapters, but that was too paltry a sum for him to do four consecutive days of work on the film for Pete's sake. A guy like Bruce Willis needs a cool million per day ... or so he thinks.

"He said he'd drop out unless he got $4 million," a source told THR. "A million dollars a day. Stallone and everybody else involved said no." Because $750,000 a day is plenty, no? So, it didn't take long for Stallone to then rally up a replacement in Harrison Ford, who apparently can settle for such a pauper's salary, after which he tweeted (with SHOUTY CAPS even) about the sticky situation.

(In case there's any doubt, by the way, he totally confirmed that last bit was directed squarely at his bald former co-star. Rambo Stallone doesn't back down from a fight, even a Twitter-based one.)

Apparently, the high and mighty Bruce was a little shell-shocked at being so, well, expendable to the cast. "I think [Willis] was pretty surprised he was replaced in 72 hours by Harrison Ford — a better actor, a much nicer person and a more interesting direction for the film," the source explained.

"The Expendables 3" will hit theaters, sans the Bruce and his million-smackers-a-day-ness, on Aug. 15, 2014.
