Goodness knows there were a s**t-ton of Easter eggs in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel," so would it really surprise anyone if there was a throwback to the very man who first made Superman, well, so super in Hollywood in the first place?

Obviously, we're referring to the late, great Christopher Reeve ,who filled out his cape like no one else ever will, and there is an actual theory floating through the web-o-sphere today that the newest iteration pays blink-and-you'd-miss-it homage to him.

As detailed by our pals over at ComicBookMovie.com, there's a moment in "Man of Steel" when Henry Cavill's getting his steel rear tossed around by the World Engine when it looks like maybe, just maybe Christopher Reeve's face was superimposed onto Cavill's in it.

Here's the moment captured and compared alongside a shot of Reeve in character:

Now, mind you, Henry Cavill is a pretty dead-ringer for Christopher Reeve already — no doubt, a big part of what got him the role he'd wanted so badly — but it's especially spot-on right here, no? Between the nose bridge, perched mouth and jaw angularity involved, it's a solid observation.

Of course, even if it is, the placement might be considered a little strange for such a thing, right? And wouldn't it be at least a little bit morbid for Snyder & Co. to have used CGI face-switchery rather than some other nodding device? You decide.
