Jon Hamm Is Your 'Minion'

Anyone with an operable pair of eyes knows that Jon Hamm is one hunky hunk-o-man meat, but does the "Mad Men" star still drive the ladies wild when that dapper mug of his isn't in the frame?

We'll find out soon enough!

Hamm has now signed on to star, as it were, opposite Sandra Bullock in Illumination Entertainment's "Minions," a follow-up to the wildly successful animated flick "Despicable Me" which puts focus on those hilarious little scuttle bugs.

The Minion-centric spin-off prequel will journey back in time to a point when the energetic little monsters served another super horrible and world domination-hungry master: Bullock's Scarlet Overkill. Hamm will portray her husband Herb.

Hamm and Herb. Huh. Sounds like a pretty tasty dish.

This isn't Hamm's first animated role, of course. In addition to guest stints on the cartoon programs "Bob's Burgers," "Archer" and "Robot Chicken," he also voiced Brogan the Ogre in "Shrek Forever After."

Hamm will next be seen as a crafty sports agent in "Million Dollar Arm" and then in Greg Mottola's TV movie "Clear History" about, shocker, a marketing exec.

"Minions" will hit theaters on Dec. 19, 2014, a good while after the pint-sized yellow scamps invade theaters again with "Despicable Me 2" (trailer below) on July 3, 2013.
