Nicholas Sparks has a well-deserved reputation as the master of the romantic drama, thanks to films like "The Notebook" and new release "Safe Haven." Last year's movie "The Vow" has everything you would expect from a Nicholas Sparks film: hot actors (Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams), a wife in a coma, lingering amnesia and the joy of love rediscovered. Just one thing -- somehow, amazingly, Sparks didn't actually write it.

Yeah, we're surprised, too. So in honor of "The Vow," we hereby present our list of the Top Five Movies You'd Think Were Written by Nicholas Sparks.

'Letters to Juliet'

Amanda Seyfried stars as a gal who is somehow lonely despite the fact that the hunky Gael García Bernal is her fiancé. She finds purpose -- and true love -- when she helps an older woman (Vanessa Redgrave) track down her own long-lost love through clever detective work random chance. Bonus points for using Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" as part of the plot; there's nothing like being literal about these things.

'Here on Earth'

Leelee Sobieski stars as a gal who finds true love in a fellow from the wrong side of the tracks (Chris Klein). When his dad insists they break things off, he is faced with the most difficult decision of his life -- especially once he discovers she has terminal cancer. In the end, he decides it is better to have loved and lost (lost out on a college education, that is), and he ditches school in order to watch her die. Bonus points for the main characters having gender-swapped nicknames; he's known as "Kelley" while she's called "Sam."

'P.S. I Love You'

Hilary Swank stars as a gal who is perfectly happy right up until her beefy husband (Gerard Butler) drops dead of a brain tumor. Luckily, he planned for this eventuality, and set up a series of post-mortem love letters which eventually send her to Ireland, where she meets and falls for one of his old childhood buddies -- who is, by the way, a hunky troubadour. She also learns how to design shoes ... and how to love again. Bonus points for having Butler actually sing a ballad to her, complete with acoustic guitar; turns out you can understand him a lot easier when he sings!

'Love Happens'

Aaron Eckhart stars as a guy whose wife was killed in a car accident. He quickly turns this into an opportunity for self improvement, writing a book about how to cope with tragedy. He himself hasn't actually learned how to cope -- until he meets a charming lady florist (Jennifer Aniston, naturally). And then love ... happens. Bonus points for Aniston's character bearing the whimsical name of Eloise.

'Someone Like You'

Ashley Judd stars as a gal whose heart is broken one too many times by her secret boyfriend, Greg Kinnear. So she writes a self-help book denouncing men -- only to discover the error of her ways when a seeming misanthrope (Hugh Jackman) turns out to be her one true love. Bonus points for naming Judd's character, who pretends to be a scientist studying the mating habits of men, Jane Goodale -- a thinly veiled reference to Jane Goodall, the anthropologist who famously dedicated her life to studying the habits of apes. We see what you did there.
