Little Quvenzhane Wallis Won't Don an Oscar Gown

"Beasts of the Southern Wild" star Quvenzhané Wallis — whom we sometimes lovingly refer to as Cutiezhané — made history this year by becoming the youngest-ever Academy Award Best Actress nominee at just nine tiny years old. The remarkable young thesp held it down as Hushpuppy for director Benh Zeitlin's believe-the-hype flick, and she's been earning all the smiles this season with her various adorable antics.

And by golly, Wallis has cued up yet another heartstring tug session in this new video interview with Vogue's Andre Leon Talley.

While most of her fellow nominees are probably off approving and/or scoffing at designer options for their lush Oscar night attire, Miss Wallis has declared — with one hilariously dramatic shoulder shrug — that she has no idea what she'll wear but she does know it won't be a long dress.

Why? "'Cause I might step on it and trip on it and I don't want to humiliate myself," she cooed — a common fear put palin. Self-humiliation for Wallis is just not possible, but still ... how awesome is this kid?

We're considering changing our nickname for her to Quvenzhan-awwwwwww right about now.

And did we mention her Oscar nom reaction included the phrase "Beast it?" Warm fuzzies for everyone!
