Kristen Wiig and Hailee Steinfeld are set to explore a rather polarizing relationship as they've signed on for the indie drama, "Hateship, Friendship," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Guy Pearce and Nick Nolte are also attached to the film that's been flying under the radar and is set to start shooting in mere days.

Based on a collection of short stories by Alice Munro called "Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage," the film centers on a nanny (Wiig) hired to take care of a wild teenage girl (Steinfeld) who proceeds to orchestrate a romance between her new caretaker and her troubled widowed father (Pearce). Also in the mix is the girl's grandfather (Nolte), who blames his son-in-law for the death of his daughter.

Liza Johnson, who wrote and directed "Return," the 2011 indie drama starring Linda Cardellini and Michael Shannon, is set to direct.

SNL MVP Kristen Wiig has been having an interesting career following her big-screen breakout hit, "Bridesmaids," balancing quirky indie projects like "Imogene" and "Revenge For Jolly!" with bigger studio projects like the recently wrapped "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," starring Ben Stiller.

Hailee Steinfeld is finally shaping up to be the movie star we all thought she'd be after blowing us away in "True Grit," as she's recently wrapped "Can a Song Save Your Life?" with Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley as well as the upcoming sci-fi adventure, "Ender's Game."

Production on "Hateship, Friendship" will commence in New Orleans next week.
