'Toy Story' Returns to Terrorize Children

Admit it: "Toy Story 3" brought you tears. You're not alone. While the final installment of the franchise was (arguably) the most poignant of all, it was bittersweet for fans, who knew this was the end of the road—until now.

True, Disney and Pixar have turned out a few "Toy Story Toons," those shorts that briefly flashed on-screen before "The Muppets," "Cars 2" and the 3D release of "Finding Nemo," but all those really managed to do was remind us how much we miss Buzz, Woody and the gang.

That's why we practically moonwalked across the room when we heard a brand-new holiday special is in the works, "Toy Story Terror," which will air on Disney-owned networks in time for Halloween 2013. According to IndieWire, it sounds like one of the filmmakers of the "Toons" will direct, while being supervised by Pixar genius John Lasseter.

Details about the actual plot remain sparse, but it's being billed as a pseudo-murder mystery, with the toys stopping at a mysterious roadside motel. When our characters start disappearing, the "survivors" must figure out what is going on, before they're all gone. Dun, dun, dun. It's also unconfirmed whether all of the actors from the features would return for their roles in this TV special, but we're placing our bets on the whole gang coming back, especially since almost everyone chimed in for the earlier shorts.

And since, if they didn't, they'd be totally lame.
