Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke Kick Into 'Overdrive'

Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke are getting into high gear.

The newly appointed Finnick Odair and everyone's favorite dragon lady are joining Karl Urban in the high-speed thriller, "Overdrive," according to Variety.

"Overdrive" centers around two American brothers who decide to take their careers as car thieves to the next level by fleeing to France, where they run afoul of a dangerous black marketeer. The film is being produced by "Taken" helmer Pierre Morel, who promises that the film will be quite the wild ride: "We're going to do things that you've never seen actual cars do before on screen," he claims.

That's a bold statement — after the "Fast and the Furious" movies, we've seen cars do quite a lot! Though such a statement certainly makes us all the more curious.

And that cast certainly helps in getting us excited for "Overdrive." Sam Claflin was just today named as the winner of the much sought-after role of Finnick Odair in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." Emilia Clarke, who continues to obsess about her dragons on "Game of Thrones," has been rumored to be part of the project since last fall — it will be fun to see her in a more contemporary kind of project (and probably with a much less extreme hairstyle).

Meanwhile, Karl Urban, who will next be seen in "Dredd" this fall, has been attached to "Overdrive" for quite some time and must be thrilled that it's finally getting out of neutral ... though both Alex Pettyfer and Matthew Goode seem to no longer be involved. The film will begin shooting in Marseilles this summer under the direction of South American director Antonio Negret.
