Considering how much the real estate market has cooled off during our nation's ongoing financial downturn, you would think it would be fairly easy to find a house where someone hasn't been murdered. Luckily for horror fans, however, people just keep on buying homes with sinister pasts.

And the new trailer for "Sinister" may be the creepiest haunted house clip yet.

So how does "Sinister" differ from pretty much every other story about a family that unknowingly moves into a home where a totally different family was once murdered? Well, first of all, "Sinister" stars Ethan Hawke, so right there you have some quality acting. And then there's the added found footage twist, where Hawke's protective dad guy finds a box of old home movies showing the previous family's fate. Should he investigate to find the truth behind their death?

Well, hell no, of course he shouldn't! But lucky for us, he does. So check out the new trailer for "Sinister," which opens on Oct. 5, courtesy of Dread Central. And if you're buying a home, you know. Read the fine print before signing anything.
