All Signs Point to a 'Snow White and the Huntsman' Sequel

Will Universal send Kristen Stewart back to the woods for a "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel?

"Snow White and the Huntsman" ate the juicy heart out of its competition on opening weekend with a cool $56.3M, and if the buzzing bees in Hollywood are to be believed, Uni is already working behind the scenes to get another "SWATH" rolling.

Although the movie hasn't made its budget back yet, its performance has been good enough that a sequel looks rather tantalizing to the studio. Mega franchise-master David Koepp is already writing the script (he's written everything from "Jurassic Park" to "Mission: Impossible") and the studio is reportedly chatting up director Rupert Sanders to see if he'd like another shot at Snow White's adventures. This time around, there'd be more wiggle room for everyone involved without another Snow White movie breathing down their collective necks. Remember "Mirror Mirror"?

Now that "Twilight" is wrapping up, would K.Stew be up for another franchise? It's a more grown-up one, to be sure, and sharing some screen time with Chris Hemsworth is a tantalizing prospect. But Stewart has also made it fairly clear that her interests lie elsewhere, peppering her career with edgy indies like "The Runaways" and "On the Road."

The July issue of "Vanity Fair" has the actress doling out some harsh words for critics who diss her every red carpet moves, so maybe she'd like a break from the spotlight for a bit. Then again, who wouldn't want to play a fairy tale queen who's the fairest of them all?
