Next Factor: 'Chernobyl Diaries' Star Jesse McCartney

Heartthrob Jesse McCartney has already established himself as a singer-songwriter, with three solo albums under his belt. He's also stacked up quite the résumé as a television actor, with recurring roles on "All My Children" and "Greek"; and he's the voice of Dick Grayson/Nightwing on the animated series "Young Justice."

But as a film actor, McCartney remains relatively unknown. That's likely to change this Friday when McCartney headlines the cast of "Chernobyl Diaries," a radioative-mutant horror thriller from Oren Peli, the guy behind "Paranormal Activity." Cue the screams.

Age: 25

Hometown: Westchester, New York

What He's Done: More like, what hasn't he done? McCartney launched his musical career as a member of the boy band Dream Street. At 15, he went solo and hasn't looked back, releasing three pop albums and crooning on a slew of Disney soundtracks. He netted two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for his performance as Adam Chandler Jr. on the ABC soap "All My Children" and starred in The WB's "Summerland" series for two seasons. On the feature film front, McCartney's impressed with strong turns in the indies "Keith" and "Beware the Gonzo," costarring another up-and-comer, Ezra Miller ("We Need to Talk About Kevin").

What He's Doing Now: Starting this Friday, folks can see McCartney fight to stay alive in the supernatural horror thriller "Chernobyl Diaries." McCartney plays one of six tourists who venture off to a deserted town previously inhabited by the workers of the Chernobyl reactor, only to find themselves stranded and hunted by supernatural beings.

Reminds Us of: With a voice to melt hearts, boy-band roots, a Disney fan base and serious acting skills (not to mention boyish good looks), there's no denying McCartney is giving Justin Timberlake a run for his money.

Fun Facts: Not only can the guy sing, but he writes his own material. McCartney's one of the folks behind Leona Lewis' hit song "Bleeding Love," which he cowrote with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. It was originally supposed to be featured on McCartney's third album, but he gave it away to Lewis, who did well by him.

Quotable: "All I watch is the Food Network," McCartney told Parade in 2009. "I took a cheesemaking class a few weeks ago, and I told my family and friends to only get me kitchen stuff on my birthday. I’m into every kind of cookbook and anything by Anthony Bourdain. I’d love to own a restaurant if I could find the right chef." There's no stopping this guy!
