Kyle Gallner Is One Last 'Beautiful Creature'

Kyle Gallner is now in on the mystery.

The "Red State" star will soon be headed down south as he signs on for a key role in "Beautiful Creatures," according to Variety.

"Beautiful Creatures" tells the gothic tale of two teens who are drawn together by a strange connection and supernatural secrets. Gallner will be playing the role of Larkin, the younger brother of the witch Ridley (Emmy Rossum) and the unfortunate recipient of one of her spells.

Kyle Gallner is certainly no stranger to films that don't quite take place in our reality, having appeared in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" reboot, "The Haunting in Connecticut" and "Jennifer's Body." He was recently terrorized by religious extremists in Kevin Smith's "Red State" and made a splash at Sundance earlier this year with his performance as Aaron Paul's younger brother in "Smashed."

With his being cast as poor Larkin, Gallner rounds out the "Beautiful Creatures" ensemble that includes Alice Englert (Lena), Alden Ehrenreich (Ethan), Viola Davis (Amma), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Lincoln/Sarafine), Jeremy Irons (Macon), Emmy Rossum (Ridley), Thomas Mann (Link), Zoey Deutch (Emily), Lindsay Clift (Althea), Margo Martindale (Aunt Del) and Rachel Brosnahan (Genevieve).

"Beautiful Creatures," which is based on the novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, has already commenced with production in New Orleans and is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 1, 2013. Be sure to check out our exclusive interview with the co-authors!
